About The Academy of Interactive Entertainment Ltd (AIE Ltd)

The Academy of Interactive Entertainment Ltd (AIE Ltd) is committed to the development of the Computer Games Industry and related creative industries. AIE Ltd has 3 Divisions: the Academy of Interactive Entertainment Education Division (AIE), Canberra Technology Park (CTP) and Interactive Entertainment Events (IE Events).

CTP encourages the growth of a strong regional creative industry and fosters the expansion of employment opportunities. CTP provides an excellent cluster environment where tenants can interact and benefit from co-locating alongside potentially complimentary businesses and organisations.

AIE provides dedicated training to both programmers and animators for the computer games and animation industries. AIE also assists its graduates to find work in the industry, and employers to recruit trained and qualified staff. AIE is working to form alliances with national and international institutions to promote and develop the best practice training for the industry.

In 1999 AIE Ltd also established the Australian Game Developers Conference (AGDC) and the Game Developers Association of Australia (GDAA). The GDAA aims to foster and promote the development of Industry networks and affiliations, both nationally and internationally. AGDC and other industry related events are now organised by the IE Events division.

AIE Ltd’s newest business venture ‘Canberra Incubator Centre’, a joint initiative of the CTP and AIE divisions, aims to establish a creative industries cluster through the establishment of start-ups. Graduates of AIE incubator courses interested in creating their own business are given resources and assistance by AIE and CTP’s services to optimise the success of their start-up.
